Jean Maniglier
Located in the northern city of Lille, this home furnishings shop is the namesake of interior designer Jean Maniglier. The store is spread out among a cluster of 17th-century houses, which contain vaulted ceilings and a globally inspired inventory of furniture, art, and tableware. Emphasizing the contrast between modern styles and natural elements, Maniglier juxtaposes clean-lined ottomans and brightly colored vases with African wood bowls, rough-hewn bamboo tables, and lamps made from coral or feathers. The stock also includes pieces from well-known French labels, such as Art Deco chairs by Hugues Chevalier, and handmade rugs by Toulemonde Bochart.
Insider Tip:
After shopping, walk down the street to l’Assiette du Marché for a lunch of traditional French fare, such as pork tenderloin with creamy Camembert.
