Albert Adrià, younger brother of Ferran (of El Bulli fame) and head molecular gastronomy alchemist at the Adrià laboratory, opened his own tapas emporium in the lower Eixample in the spring of 2006. With an ever-changing selection of classic tapas presented in original ways (such as his olive anthology in a ceramic flute, or his individual-size Torta del Casar cheese served in its characteristic wooden crate), Albert’s place attracts a young crowd with culinary curiosity.
The bar on the chamfered corner on the street is a great perch for itinerant tapas aficionados making the rounds.
