Raku
Las Vegas, NV, 89146, United States
Reservations are a must at this tiny Japanese restaurant, located in an unassuming Chinatown strip mall. Frequented by off-duty celebrity chefs (former patrons include Tom Colicchio and Paul Bartolotta), Raku contains less than three dozen seats in a no-frills dining room, decorated with light wood tables and simple black chairs. Chef Mitsuo Endo (formerly of Megu in New York) specializes in affordable small plates, most of which are cooked on the robata (a traditional Japanese grill heated with imported binchotan charcoal). Popular options include the homemade agedashi tofu (deep-fried tofu in miso broth), and robata-grilled Kobe beef fillet with wasabi.
Insider Tip:
While the regular menu is comprised mostly of small plates, the chalkboard menu of daily specials typically includes more expensive full-portion dishes, so ask about prices before ordering.
