Disney's Blizzard Beach
The concept for this water park may seem a little weird—it's the remains of a fictitious freak snowstorm that resulted in a melting ski resort—but the mythology makes for an original take on a tried-and true idea. Open year round, some two million guests per year come to to this Disney water attraction. The rides are mostly constructed off a huge artificial hill called Mount Gushmore, with color-coded levels of excitement for different ages and preferences. Guests can race each other down the Purple slopes, for instance, while the Green slopes include single track attractions such as the Summit Plummit, where downhill speeds of 60 miles per hour are possible. Tike's Peak has scaled-down versions of the same rides for younger visitors.
