Kennebunkport + The Southern Beaches
Our Place Inn & Cottages
North Haven, ME, 04853, United States
Our Place is a grey, wood-paneled compound from Marnelle and Gordon Bubar that resides on the island of North Haven, a ferry ride away from Rockland on Maine’s central coast. The buildings, a short walk from Pulpit Harbor, consist of a five-room inn, a lighthouse cottage, and three self-contained cottages, complete with kitchen, bedroom and bath. The Bubars similarly appointed each room with wood floors, couches and quilts. The grounds are spacious, and in warmer weather, plenty green, but in the winter, only evergreens add a touch of color to the white landscape.
Room to Book:
The best room depends on privacy preferences. Two rooms in the main house share a bathroom, three don’t. The stand-alone cottages are set apart from the house, and people.
Insider Tip:
None of the local restaurants are open in the winter or early spring, but people renting Our Place cottages have kitchens, and a nearby grocery story is open year-round to supply raw ingredients.
