Hotels in Kansas

Kansas doesn’t offer the same breadth of boutique and luxury accommodations as states on the East and West Coast of the U.S.; instead, hotels in Kansas are mainly large, established chains such as Holiday Inn, Hilton, Marriott, Hampton Inn, Comfort Suites, Sheraton and Embassy Suites. All are relatively affordable, even during peak tourism season. The major cities – Topeka, Wichita, Dodge City and Kansas City in particular – offer a wide selection of accommodations; it may be more difficult to find hotels in small, rural towns. There, travelers will more likely encounter a very small number of local inns or bed-and-breakfasts. Some of the most popular hotels in Kansas include the Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, a historic Kansas hotel that features modern suites, a trendy bar and restaurant, and folksy rumors of a ghost darting in and out of its 56 rooms; the Hotel at Old Town in Wichita, a beautifully restored factory located in the midst of the city’s Old Town; the Hotel at Water Walk in downtown Wichita, which boasts spacious, modern suites; and the Candlewood Suites in Kansas City, which offers amenities like an indoor saltwater pool and a 24-hour fitness center.
