Things to do in Java
There is no difficulty in finding something to do in Java. This area of the world is full of active volcanos that are bubbling on a daily basis, no need to be scared; their eruptions do not come close to being destructive. They are more of the creative type.
Other things to do in Java include visiting Hindu and Buddhist temples. Many of these can be found around the island. One enigma among these temples is Candi Sukuh. Which is thought to be built before the era of Hinduism. The art around the temple points to it being a cult that worshiped fertility. If you are interested in visiting this unique religious relic, consider joining a tour from Solo or Yogyakarta.
Sultan palaces are another popular destination. One interesting palace is the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat. It is open to visitors with the southern entrance being the area where most tourists enter. Visiting the palace is like going to a Java museum. You will find many flowers, jewels and gold among the holdings.
Since Java is an island, the beaches are plentiful. The miles of beautiful coast line are a sun bather's paradise. Enjoy taking in the sun, but if you are expecting a peaceful day, remember that the island holds millions of people, so you will not likely find solace.
