Secluded 1922 lakeside lodge with family-friendly cabins and a mountain-style golf course, spread across 700 acres in Jasper National Park. With nine restaurants, on-site shopping, a full-service spa, and a menu of activities that is exhausting just to look at (including ice-walking on a frozen river), the Fairmont Jasper Park is the equivalent of an adventure theme park. Of the 441 rooms, the historic cabins are worth the splurge, including a replica of the six-bedroom Outlook, which once housed Queen Elizabeth.
Room to Book:
Avoid smaller standards; Lakeside Cabin Deluxes ($50 more) have a more affordable (if partially obstructed) view of Lac Beauvert.
Insider Tip:
Enjoy a glass of wine while sitting out on the sundeck on Lac Beauvert. The southward view sweeps the Whistler mountain range and Mt. Edith Cavell.
