Islington
Masala Zone
London, England, N1 0NU, United Kingdom
The Islington location of this seven-brasserie Indian food chain has an outdoor food court and an interior with eye-catching murals by tribal artists. As with other Masala Zone eateries, the decor is contemporary with a warm, earthy color palette and plenty of art. The menu focuses on pan-Indian street food and home-style cooking, which co-owners Namita and sister Camellia Panjabi feel is the soul of Indian cuisine. Thali platters are the favorite choice, with multiple small dishes including a curry, two vegetable sides, dal, raita, salad, rice, and whole-wheat chapati.
Insider Tip:
Co-owner Camellia Panjabi's book 50 Great Curries of India is a great souvenir for satisfied diners wanting to recreate dishes at home.
