Islington
Duke of Cambridge
London, England, N1 8JT, United Kingdom
A much-loved restaurant in London’s Islington neighborhood, Duke of Cambridge is an all-organic gastropub and the first and only one to be certified by the Soil Association. Opened in 1998, the pub features a high ceiling, exposed brick walls, and lightly-stained wood beams. The kitchen emphasizes fresh food from local, independent producers, and the menu changes based on what is in season. Typical fare includes items like whole baked red mullet, slow roast mutton, and chicken and mushroom pie, and there’s usually a selection of vegetarian items as well.
Insider Tip:
Even the pub’s wine menu is organic, and all of their beers are brewed by small independent, artisan brewers near London.
