Just off the Overseas Highway, Robbie’s Marina is a boat rental and tour company cantilevered over the Florida Bay waters. Possible activities include deep-sea fishing, kayaking through the mangroves, and snorkeling in the nation’s largest barrier reef. Accommodating up to eight people, the rental boats come equipped with convertible canopies, as well as Coast Guard—approved safety equipment. Robbie’s is also home to souvenir shops, local craft stalls, and the Hungry Tarpon restaurant, which is known not only for its fresh seafood but also the school of 50—100 enormous tarpons waiting below the dock to be hand-fed by visitors.
