Innisbrook
Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club
Palm Harbor, FL, 34684 , United States
It’s all about golf at Innisbrook, a resort on 900 acres just five miles east of Florida’s Gulf Coast beaches. Since 1990, the 600-room all-suite property has hosted the annual PGA Tour’s Transitions Championship, luring well-known players including Jim Furyk and Vijay Singh to the four challenging courses. But thanks to a veritable rolodex of other activities, non-duffers keep busy. There are six pools (including one with winding waterslides, sandy beach areas, and a 15-foot waterfall) and 11 tennis courts for private lessons, custom clinics, and kids’ programs. The 20,000-square-foot Indaba Spa, which translates to “gathering place” in Zulu, is the place for African-themed treatments—an exotic twist for an otherwise all-American retreat.
Room to Book:
Some hotel buildings lack elevators; request a first-floor room if you want to avoid taking the stairs.
Insider Tip:
On Saturday nights, head to the Loch Ness Monster Pool for a family-friendly “Dive-In” movie, shown on an inflatable screen. Arrive early for trivia contents, face painting, and kid-friendly games.
