Hutchinson Island Marriott Beach Resort & Marina
This Marriott has something of a split personality: part of it features beachfront villas looking right out onto the ocean, while the main lodge’s rooms are a 10- to 15-minute walk inland. A great beachfront and an 18-hole golf course surround the two areas; tying it all together is the resort’s location on quiet Hutchinson Island, close to the quaint downtown of Stuart and far from the hubbub of West Palm Beach.
Comfortable rooms come with balconies or patios and are done in a bright Floridian style; if you stay in the main hotel, get a room overlooking the pool (instead of the parking lot). It’s there that you you’ll find the expected resort amenities: restaurant, poolside bar, and small gym; depending on your priorities, that convenience may outweigh the short commute to the beach. Golfers don’t have to compromise, though—the course lies in between the two sections.
