A hole in the wall in nearly every sense of the word, Mitsu-Ken Okazu & Catering is, essentially, a nondescript, off the beaten path, shack. Travelers looking for Hawaii’s best cuisine should not be fooled by appearances, however, as this shack serves what many locals claim is some of the best food on the island and has earned itself almost a fanatical following. The main draw here is, without a doubt, the garlic chicken, fried chicken served in a garlicky, soy-based sauce. Offering to go service only, Mitsu-Ken is the perfect place to pick up a meal before a picnic.
