Outrigger Reef

With direct access to Waikiki Beach, the Outrigger Reef on the Beach resort has a decidedly Hawaiian feel, from historic canoe art at the reception desk to a sitting room library stocked with Hawaiian literature and artifacts from the Bishop Museum. Each of the 639 rooms and suites has island touches, including colorful wood accents and bright, Polynesian-print linens. There are three restaurants on-site: Kani Ka Pila Grille for poolside pupus (hors d’oeuvres); the Shore Bird for grill-your-own fish and meat; and the more upscale Ocean House Restaurant, which specializes in seafood. Traditional Hawaiian activities are available daily to guests, such as lei making and hula dancing.
