A place full of adventure, the Everglades National Park boasts 2,400 square miles of diverse natural habitats, constituting the largest subtropical wilderness in the country. The park is also home to thousands of wildlife species, most notably tropical wading birds such as the Great Blue Heron. Recreational activities include salt and sea water fishing, hiking and biking trails, canoeing, kayaking, and camping. Knwon as River of Grass, the Everglades also offers guided tours led by a park ranger or boat captain.
Insider Tip:
Most of the trails within Everglades National Park are off limits to pets so don't plan to bring your furry friend.
