Green Leaf Niseko Village

Higashiyama-onsen
Niseko-cho
Hokkaido, Japan
TEL: 81-136-443-311
If you’re looking for Hokkaido’s world-famous powder, the ski-in, ski-out Green Leaf, on Japan’s north island, couldn’t provide a softer landing. New York designer Alexandra Champalimaud styled the 200 guest rooms, which all have Eames chairs and picture windows facing either Hokkaido’s striking Mount Yotei or the tree-dotted countryside. Hanging on the walls are original prints by artist Soichiro Tomioka, whose winter landscapes rival the views outside. Not to be missed: a dip in the onsen after a day on skis.

Room to Book:

Each of the eight elegant Corner Suites is encased in wood paneling and stocked with a selection of local teas, perfect for après-ski.

Insider Tip:

Take a guided tour of the Yoichi Distillery (about an hour by train), and sample the company's award-winning vintage single malt.
