Madrona Manor
Healdsburg, CA, 95448, United States
TEL: (800) 258-4003
This three-story Victorian mansion, set on eight wood-lined acres, dates to 1881. Inn-goers weren't welcomed until 1981, and owners Bill and Trudi Konrad took over the property in 1999. Each room has a fireplace and site-specific antiques. Other buildings include a restored carriage house and a 1920s schoolhouse that was transformed into suites in 2000, complete with Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, and private decks. Since Madrona Manor keeps gardens, chef Jesse Mallgren is able to change the menu up to three times a week in the on-site restaurant. Dishes might include a “smooth” scallop and pork belly dish or “meaty” California guinea fowl.
Room to Book:
Meadow Wood is one of the most private suites, sporting Asian themed decor and featuring porch-front views of the manor’s south lawn.
Insider Tip:
The restaurant is closed every Monday and Tuesday, so take advantage of these times for an Alexander Valley Wine Tour (the Healdsburg Visitor Center has complimentary tasting passes and maps).
