Named after the legendary Harlem speakeasy, Red Rooster Harlem serves up sophisticated soul food. Menus reflect the diverse population of the neighborhood as well as the background of Swedish chef, Marcus Samuelsson as you’ll see on the menu which includes Fried Yard Bird and Helga’s Meatballs. The dining room is warmly furnished in caramel, ivory and brown with bentwood furniture with a wall of eye-catching chalkboard graphics surrounding the window on the open kitchen. Reservations are available 30 days in advance and the restaurant is always booked, so plan ahead if you want to enjoy this Harlem favorite.
Unlike many places, Red Rooster charges for refills on coffee and iced tea just like they would on wine or a cocktail, so don’t sip with abandon.
