Kitchenette Uptown

When you want a meal consisting of comfort food like mom used to cook, head over to the Kitchenette Uptown in Morningside Heights. The diner has a cottage feel, with pink polka dot wainscoting, a black and white tiled floor, and tables made with salvaged doors. A dizzying array of pastries, cakes, cupcakes, and cookies line the counters and pastry case. Desserts are made with sweet butter, pure vanilla, Belgium chocolate and Dutch cocoa. Traditional American meals are served; some favorites are the turkey meatloaf and the baked four cheese macaroni and cheese.
