Things to do in Gujarat + Western India

On your Gujarat visit, be sure to take a safari through Gir National Park. You may see wild animals such as antelope, hyenas, reptiles, even lions and leopards! There are also many species of birds to observe in the Gir National Park. For the best chance of seeing large cats, it is recommended that visitors go on at least four safaris.

For a royal, VIP experience, be sure to visit Bhavnagar-Palitana and hire porters to carry you in a carriage to the Jain temples. You will see bazaars, silversmith shops, a seaside palace called Nilambagh, and beautiful temples. There is also a shipwreck shop called Alang that would be interesting to browse. The Alang has often been compared to a flea market.
