Hotels in Great Smoky Mountains

Gatlinburg has the largest selection of hotels in the Great Smoky Mountains. The city, the biggest destination in the region, sits just on the edge of the mountains and is home to the popular Dollywood theme park. Gatlinburg is also a ski resort and has the annual Winterfest Celebration during the holidays, so this is the one spot in the area where you may have trouble finding a room in one of their Great Smoky Mountain hotels during the winter months.

However, if you’re staying in one of the small mountain towns throughout the range, forgo one of the hotels in the Great Smoky Mountain for a cabin rental. You can enjoy a cup of coffee on your porch as the fog settles in the morning or sip a glass of wine after a long hike through the woods in the early evening.

One of the best hotels in the Great Smoky Mountains and, in fact, the country is Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee, a short drive from the college town of Knoxville. The 4200-acre farm has a world-class restaurant on-site, a well-stocked catfish pond and 62 rooms and 20 cottages.

About 25 minutes from Knoxville, Blackberry is like a south of the Mason-Dixon Line edition of a Currier & Ives print: ribbons of white fences, a pond stocked with catfish, and houses constructed from Tennessee fieldstone.

The affordable property is made up of five architecturally unique guesthouses.
