Grand Mesa
Powderhorn Resort
A little more out-of-the way and a lot more down-to-earth than the bigger Colorado ski resorts, Powderhorn doesn't have a huge number of trails or an upscale lodge. It does, however, offer affordable family fun, shorter than average lift lines, and incredible views. Operated independent from the resort, lodging is available at Goldenwoods Condominiums (one to three-bedroom units with fireplaces and some with private patios) and the Slopeside Inn, a 17-room inn with comfortable, if unremarkable, rooms, just feet from the slopes.
Room to Book:
At Goldenwoods, ask for a room with a Jacuzzi tub.
Insider Tip:
While in the area, take a ride on the Grand Mesa Scenic Byway for the incredible views.
