13756 Arnold Dr., Glen Ellen, CA 95442, United States

Originally built in 1906 as one of Sonoma’s finest hotels, the structure fell into disrepair before being resurrected in 2005. Now, it’s home to six 2,000 square foot suites, each featuring three bedrooms, two baths, and a gourmet kitchens (stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, gas range, and an all-important Sonoma staple, the personal wine cooler). Plus, each suite opens onto a spacious balcony with views of the surrounding hillside wineries and the pool and courtyard below. But many guests spend their days outside the property: a mile stroll from The Chauvet is Jack London State Historic Park and the ruins of London’s Wolf House; Quarryhill Botanic Garden, with one of the largest collections of temperate Asian plants in North America, is down the road; and then, of course, there are the nearby wineries, known for bottling Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
