If Shaw's Fish & Lobster Wharf looks familiar, it might be because part of the Kevin Costner movie Message in a Bottle was filmed here. That was in the late 1990s, but little has changed. Shaw's still serves up traditional New England fare in a casual setting from mid-May to mid-October. Handwritten boards behind the counter display the comprehensive menu, which features everything you'd expect (lobsters, chowders, fried clams), plus an array of salads, steaks, burgers, sandwiches, and other grub. There is indoor seating, but head out to the wharf or second floor deck to watch the lobster boats come in and out of the harbor, the day's catch in tow.

Shaw's also has an outdoor raw bar, and a lower level Lobster Room, where guests can watch the live lobsters swimming around the tanks.
