Round Pond Lobster
Round Pond, ME, 04564, United States
Buddy Poland inherited the lobstering tradition from his New England forebears and manages this shingled lobster shack near a harbor called Round Pond, which empties into Muscongus Sound on Maine’s central coast. They’re open from March through Christmas. He sells the bulk of his lobsters wholesale, and ships to Canada, though some lobsters are available to consume on site, along with simple sides like corn and potato chips. There's a dock out front, along with a deck and umbrella-covered seating.
Insider Tip:
From June through September, Frank Bedell takes people on half-day trips around the nearby islands on a 30-foot sailboat, through his company, Bay Sail, LLC, which leaves right from the harbor.
