Hotel Torre di Bellosguardo

2 Via Roti Michelozzi
Florence, 50124, Italy
TEL: 39-055-229-8145

Situated atop the hill of Bellosguardo, this distinctive hotel is housed in a Renaissance-era villa built around a 14th-century tower. Surrounded by olive groves and manicured gardens, the villa originally belonged to Dante’s friend Guido Calvacanti. Today, the hotel contains a reception area with centuries-old frescoes, as well as tall loggias, stone staircases, and 16 individually decorated guestrooms, most of which have antique beds and views of the Duomo framed by cypress trees. The hotel grounds also include a swimming pool and a small farm with donkeys, hens, a pony, and a vegetable garden that provides fresh produce for breakfast.

Room to Book:

Nature enthusiasts should request a room with a back window overlooking the garden’s stone walls, flowering vines, and small stream.

Insider Tip:

The windows in the rooms do open, but mosquitoes are often an issue here, so you’re better off leaving them closed.
