Fisherman's Wharf Travel Guide
People have been drawn to waters of Black Point Cove just west of today’s Fisherman’s Wharf since President Fillmore annexed it in 1850. The Works Progress Administration built an aquatic park bathhouse here, which today houses a museum dedicated to the maritime history of the city.
The island itself has remained more or less the same since the Park Service first opened it to visitors in 1973, but the tours of the world-famous prison have been getting better and better over the years.
At this family-owned bike shop in Fisherman’s Wharf, a variety of 24-hour rental options are available, including comfort, performance, and electric bikes in six different pedal styles.
