Lobby of the Galleria Park Hotel
San Francisco, CA, 94108, United States
Previously named one of the world’s greatest tour guides by Travel + Leisure, Rick Evans leads two signature walking tours: an architectural tour and a Chinatown tour. The two-hour architectural excursion provides insight into a wide variety of Financial District landmarks, from well-known structures like the Hallidie—the first building with a glass curtain wall—to off-the-radar spaces called POPOS (privately owned public open spaces), such as unadvertised rooftop gardens and secluded courtyards. The three-hour Chinatown tour includes a detailed history of the neighborhood, as well as visits to a fortune cookie factory and the nation's oldest Chinese temple.
Insider Tip:
After your tour, head to the Citigroup Center’s “POPOS” (one of the more visible examples, located on the main level) and enjoy a picnic beside the fountain and palm trees.
