Located on the northwestern coast of Malolo Island, this adults-only resort makes full use of the surrounding coral-reef lagoon with its over-water and beachfront bures (thatched-roof bungalows). The over-water bures have glass floor insets providing up-close views of tropical fish, while the deluxe beachfront accommodations include outdoor showers and private plunge pools. All 45 bures are decorated with magimagi (braided string made from coconut husks). The on-site restaurant, Fijiana, serves a five-course menu that changes daily to incorporate the freshest local ingredients. On Fridays, the resort also hosts a lovo, a traditional South Pacific barbecue with music and dance performances.
Room to Book:
If you plan to spend more time in the pool than the lagoon, opt for one of the garden bures, which are the least expensive and closest to the pool and restaurant.
Insider Tip:
Fijiana has two private beachfront decks for romantic dinners; reservations fill up quickly, however, so book in advance.
