Escondido Travel Guide
Set in a verdant valley, this public park is named after the scout who assisted Captain John C. Frémont during the government exploring expeditions of the 1840’s. Today, the park has nearly 100 acres developed for public use, as well as another 185 acres preserved as a natural habitat.
White rhinos, Sumatran tigers, and California condors are among the 3,500 residents at this renowned safari park, an 1,800-acre extension of the San Diego Zoo. Most of the animals live in free-range enclosures, enabling them to interact as they would in the wild.
Located in Escondido, the Stone Brewing Company was founded in 1996 by beer enthusiasts Steve Wagner and Greg Koch. The brewery produces more than 100,000 barrels of beer each year, and that number continues to increase every year.
