Edinburgh
The Dining Room at 28 Queen Street
Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 1JX, United Kingdom
Located in an 18th-century Georgian townhouse, this upscale restaurant is the only public component of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society headquarters. Situated on the ground floor, the high-ceilinged dining room has tall windows that permit natural light to wash over the white-clothed tables and antique chairs set beside a marble fireplace. Incorporating fresh local ingredients, the menu may include wild salmon fillet with crab cannelloni, and saddle of lamb with ricotta gnocchi, summer vegetables, and minted lamb broth. The extensive wine list represents 12 different countries, while the equally impressive whisky collection includes bottles from more than 120 distilleries.
Insider Tip:
If you’re looking for after-dinner entertainment, walk five minutes down the street to the Stand Comedy Club, which hosts standup and sketch comedy every night of the week.
