Gravetye Manor

Vowels Ln.
West Hoathly, England, RH19 4LJ, United Kingdom
TEL: 44-1342-810-567

Gravetye Manor is not only one of the first country houses to transform into a sophisticated hotel, but these 1,000 acres were also once home (and testing ground) to one of England’s most famed gardeners, William Robinson. He bought this West Sussex property in 1884, which today includes 17 luxurious suites inside an Elizabethan-era stone house, along with a variety of gardens, a meadow, and two lakes. Tour the circular kitchen garden and then sit down for an English breakfast or lunch in the three-rosette restaurant. The tasting menu at dinner attracts visiting gastronomes as well as overnight guests.

Insider Tip:

Gravetye Manor makes for a convenient and quiet country getaway from London, as it is located just 30 miles from central London and 12 miles from Heathrow Airport.
