Dupont Circle
Firefly, Washington D.C.
Washington, DC, 20036, United States
This intimate neighborhood restaurant prides itself on being environmentally conscious: The tables are made from salvaged barn wood, the glassware from recycled wine bottles, and a candle-lit live oak tree shoots up through the middle of the restaurant's interior. Like a stylized urban cabin in the midst of Dupont Circle, Firefly brings the outdoors indoors in with its backyard chic décor. Chef Daniel Bortnick's menu favors American comfort fare, prepared in close proximity to the diners behind an interior stone wall. Firefly's signature mini pot roast—slow roasted over two days—is the menu's signature dish.
Insider Tip:
Snag one of the seats around the Firefly tree, the best spot for soaking up the little eatery's indoor/outdoor ambiance.
