Dublin
Merrion Hall
Dublin, Ireland
Remodeled in 2005, this Edwardian-era mansion is part of the Halpin brand, which showcases traditional Irish hotels. A brick façade is covered almost entirely in green ivy, while inside guests can lounge in the library filled with Irish literature, or the drawing room for afternoon tea and evening cocktails. Standard guestrooms are decorated with antique teak furnishings and native linen, alongside suites that have the addition of whirlpool spa bathtubs. Large fireplaces can be found in the lobby; and the Austrian-style spa services guests of this hotel and its sister property, Aberdeen Lodge. A traditional Irish breakfast is served daily.
Room to Book:
Visitors should request lodging facing the inner green, as these are the only standard rooms with a view.
Insider Tip:
The hotel is separated into different buildings, forcing guests to trek through the cold to reach their rooms during the winter months.
