Red Sky
Southwest Harbor, ME, 04679, United States
A local favorite on Mount Desert Island, this New American restaurant emphasizes organic local produce and fresh seafood from the coast of Maine. Opened in 2003 by husband-and-wife team Elizabeth and James Lindquist, Red Sky has a sophisticated but comfortable dining room with votive candles, a working fireplace, a mahogany bar, and framed landscape paintings. Like the wine list, the seasonal menu is constantly evolving and may include such dishes as pan-roasted halibut and slow-braised ribs with maple glaze. The restaurant is open year-round except for the month of January, although service during the off-season is limited to Thursday—Saturday.
Insider Tip:
Red Sky is just a 10-minute walk from the Southwest Harbor Upper Town Dock, making it an excellent choice for dinner following a ride on the Cranberry Cove Ferry.
