From its trendy digs in West LA’s Culver City Art District, the Walter Maciel Gallery showcases the works of emerging to mid-career contemporary artists. Named for its San Francisco gallery director founder, the venue celebrates mediums ranging from painting and sculpture to photography and video. Chinese émigrée painter, Hung Liu, is among the more prominent artists represented by the gallery. Other stand-outs include the Bay Area "science fiction-y" painter/sculptor/visual artist, Cynthia Ona Innis, and the "narco-centric" painter, Carolyn Castano.

Insider Tip:

Walter Maciel Gallery is hard to miss. When heading to LaCienega, look for the dark-grey building crisscrossed with white graffiti.
