Crested Butte
Lobar
Sushi was a game-changer when it was introduced at the Lobar; the mission changed from purely nightclub to a combination of restaurant, sushi bar, and party spot. Marked by a black canopy on Elk Street, Lobar's dining room offers high wood tables and is lit by paper lanterns and neon lights. Japanese fare is prepared in an ancient grilling style known as robata, with starters including blackened ahi robata with sesame and specialty sushi like the fried Godzilla Roll (made with salmon, scallions, and sweet sesame soy). The restaurant is closed in the month of April.
Insider Tip:
Lobar is on the same block as the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, which celebrates not only bikers but journalists, pioneers, and ambassadors of the popular sport.
