The Ice Bar at Uley's Cabin

Uley Scheer was more clean-cut than the average man of the mountains, an incident involving liquor and town law enforcement landed him in the county jail. Though the namesake is a bit dubious, this remote restaurant in Crested Butte Mountain Resort offers Colordo fare with French influences. Located inside a true cabin, the open dining room includes exposed beams, wood floors, and leather furniture alongside a stone fireplace. The Ice Bar outside offers skiers a “ski-up bar.” Chef Chris Schlaudecker's signature lunch entrée is elk bourguignon (a red-wine stew), and the ever-changing dinner menu is available Wednesday through Saturday.
