Housed in a three-story, corner-spanning, early 20th-century building just a few blocks from Stroget (Copenhagen's central shopping street), Arnold Busck is the flagship edition of a bookstore chain that boasts outlets all over Denmark. Though the store specializes in literature devoted to architecture, art, and design, it also has a vast selection of Copenhagen guidebooks (including many in English) and titles focusing on local and regional history. On the second floor, the popular Baresso coffee shop gives patrons the opportunity to sit in window seats and look out over the busy shopping street below as they read and sip.
Just around the corner is Kultorvet Square (Coal Square), where you can buy fresh flowers, fruit, and vegetables from market stalls or sit at one of sidewalk cafes and people watch.
