Opened by Puerto Rican celebrity chef Wilo Bennet in 1990, Pikayo relocated from its original home in the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico to the Conrad Condado Plaza in 2009. Bennet has created a menu of innovative Puerto Rican fusion cuisine, calling on Spanish, Indian, and African flavors. The resulting “exotic criollo cuisine” is exemplified in such dishes as the Hawaiian yellowfin tuna with sauteed bok choy and Oriental black bean sauce and the ribeye mignon with haricot verts and spicy citrus ponzu sauce.
A meal at Pikayo is often a leisurely experience; plan to spend at least two hours at the restaurant.
