Cobble Hill

Bar Tabac

128 Smith St.
Brooklyn, NY, 11201, United States
TEL: (718) 923-0918

Although this bar in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill neighborhood does not actually sell tobacco, its spirit draws from the iconic shops, kiosks, and annexes that populate the streets of France, making it a meeting point for the city’s French expatriate community. The menu follows suit with bistro-style dishes like baked Burgundy snails, duck confit, and calamari brochette alongside a wine list of Bourdeaux, Beaujolais, and Sauvignon Blancs. The atmosphere is colorfully festive with tangerine and yellow walls, red tables, blue-flower floor tiles offset by aged wood paneling. After 8 p.m. on most nights, live music adds to the fun.

Insider Tip:

Stop by on Bastille Day, when the adjacent street is filled with sand for the annual international petanque tournament.
