Sometimes described as the best children’s museum in the U.S., this stately museum is anything but on the inside—it houses a dizzying number of hands-on play areas for kids.

The Harman Center for the Arts is the collective name for the Lansburgh Theatre and Sidney Harman Hall, which serve as the home theaters for The Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Now renamed the Donald W. Reynolds Center, the Old Patent Office Building is the focal point of the Penn Quarter, covering an entire city block at the intersection of 8th and F Streets.
