Chinatown/Convention Center

Capital Q

707 H St. N.W.
Washington, DC, 20001, United States
TEL: (202) 347-8396

Owner Nick Fontana, a native Texan, opened Capital Q with the goal of creating an authentic Texas barbecue joint, complete with cafeteria-style ordering, wooden stools, and paper towel rolls on the tables. Located in Chinatown, just one block from the Verizon Center, the eatery's menu offerings include Texas favorites like beef brisket, smoked sausage and chicken, and dry-rubbed pork ribs, and meat can be ordered with two sides, served over rice, or in bulk. There are even sandwiches and burritos made from the barbequed meats, and sides range from Texas caviar (black-eyed peas) to collard greens.

Insider Tip:

For those who are split between barbecue and Chinese , Capital Q offers a solution that pays tribute to its location: the Chinese Cowboy Platter, a plate of rice topped with smoked pork, chicken, or sausage.
