Fay Da Bakery
When was the last time you could buy anything for cents in New York? Head to the Fay Da Bakery in Chinatown and you’ll have the chance. If the affordable goods don’t draw you in, then perhaps the window display of cakes, taro puffs, sesame balls, scallion twists, and milk cream buns will. There's a tiny sitting area inside the bakery with a few tables; if you can snag one, it makes for a great place to relax and enjoy a pastry or a bubble tea served in a stemless wine glass.
As clerks speak little to no English, it’s recommended that you bring a friend who speaks Chinese if possible, particularly if you need help navigating the ample menu.
