Metropolis Coffee Company

1039 W. Granville Ave.
Chicago, IL, 60660, United States
TEL: (773) 764-0400
TEL: (773) 338-4904

Founded in 2003 by the father and son duo of Jeff and Tony Dreyfuss, Metropolis is a small-batch artisan coffee roaster operating out of a 1950's limestone building in the Edgewater community, just two blocks from the Lake Michigan shore. Many customers take their lattes, made with Metropolis’s signature Redline espresso blend, to go, but those who aren't scuttling off to meetings can grab a seat, use the free wi-fi, and check out the cool local art hanging on the Dijon-toned walls. In addition to artisan-roasted coffee, the café offers a limited food menu with items like bacon-cheddar quiche and homemade pastries.

Insider Tip:

CTA’s Red Line is right down the road, so it’s easy to come up to the North Side, even if it is just for a cup of coffee or tea.
