Inside Manhattan’s Meatpacking district sits the massive, 16,000-square-foot Buddakan, an Asian fusion restaurant, in what used to be a Nabisco cookie factory. Set up like a Chinese mansion, the restaurant boasts a two-story great hall with chandeliers hanging above a 30-person table, and off of that are several small dining rooms with Chinese antiquity painted on the walls. The menu is a mix of traditional Chinese dishes, like the Cantonese spring rolls, and more updated selections, such as the sizzling short rib with mushroom chow fun and glazed black cod.

Insider Tip:

Chefs Brian Ray and Yang Huang welcome special orders and will be happy to create the traditional Chinese dish of your choice upon request.
