Chelsea Physic Garden
Founded in 1673 by the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries of London, the Chelsea Physic Garden is the city’s oldest botanic garden and home to Britain's first garden of ethnobotany. Positioned in the heart of London just along the Thames river, the garden features roughly 5,000 taxa, including medicinal plants and rare and endangered species. The Physic Garden is also home to the city's oldest rock garden, constructed using stones from the Tower of London, fused bricks and flint and Icelandic lava, as well as a glasshouse of tropical, sub-tropical, and Mediterranean plant species.
The garden has a Tangerine Dream Café that serves homemade food and afternoon tea
