The city is many things to many people, and if you’re looking for things to do in Charleston, you have options. Outdoor enthusiasts, for example, might rent bikes at Affordabike to bike over the Ravenel Bridge, or hire a guide through Nature Adventures Outfitters to kayak through cypress swamps or camp on barrier islands. Epicureans might enjoy insider Culinary Tours of Charleston, or cooking classes at Southern Season and Le Creuset’s Atelier. History buffs appreciate Fort Sumter, historic homes, early plantations, museums, and guided walking tours through secret alleyways. Water lovers take sunset sails, arrange fishing charters, paddleboard back creeks, or take surfing classes. Craft brew enthusiasts might enjoy offbeat Bendy Brewski Yoga sessions or hop on the Brews Cruise to hit multiple breweries. Art lovers have scads of galleries from which to choose, both classical (Ann Long), and avant-garde (Redux, The Halsey, Robert Lange), and can dine at The Drawing Room or take weekend painting workshops at galleries like Horton Hayes. Whether your interests lie with some or all of the above, you cannot exhaust Charleston in just one visit if you’re planning what to do.
