Ann Long Fine Art
Charleston resident Ann Long scours the globe in search of skilled realists, many of them graduates of a renowned classical atelier program in Florence, Italy. This cadre of talent depicts glowing still lifes, moody chiaroscuro nudes, landscapes, and portraits that feel at once contemporary and timeless. Long's collection is supplemented with works by select 20th century modernists, as well as 1920s Charleston Renaissance darlings Alfred Hutty and Elizabeth O'Neill Verner (popular among collectors). The spacious, warmly lit gallery is worth a visit whether you are in the market for artwork or not, yet you may stumble on a piece you cannot live without.
